enfermedades neurologicasRadiosurgery is a selective radiotherapy technique that intends to provide maximum radiation in a given area without affecting the rest of the brain, as it occurs with conventional radiotherapy. It involves placing the stereotactic guide, locating the lesion to be treated and applying very thin radiation beams from multiple external points which will converge in the injury. This process can be carried out by a system such as gamma ray scalpel where the lesion to be treated is taken to the isocenter of the machine, where many fine radiation beams converge. The concentration of a high level of radiation, which destroys the lesion, is achieved by matching the lesion with the center of the hemisphere.
